HELLO! WELCOME TO SOLIS MASSAGE THERAPY...
where massage is used as a natural healing therapy to relieve your pain & hold a therapeutic space for your mind & body to relax, revive & heal; facilitating a happier, healthier life.

Solis Massage Therapy was launched in 2020 and has gone from strength to strength despite a global pandemic during its infancy. It was started by Rachel, who in her late thirties and during a challenging time with her health decided that the only way to move forward was to make a change. So taking a big leap of faith, she retrained as a massage therapist, left her secure job and started her own business in a beautiful log cabin in her garden on the outskirts of Bishopsteignton.
In 2025, Solis Massage Therapy expanded to an additional venue in nearby Kingsteignton, and another therapist, Cara, joined Rachel in offering more appointments to accommodate those on the waiting list, as well as welcome new clients.

Cara and Rachel completed their massage training together at the School of Bodywork in Exeter, both acutely aware of the importance of a professional level of training in order to provide a safe and reputable service to those they treat.

Rachel has embarked on another challenge recently converting her log cabin into a luxury holiday let; Linden Lodge.
So all treatments are now carried out in the Kingsteigton therapy room which is a sanctuary that Rachel and Cara can't wait to share with you; a safe space providing you with a calm and nurturing environment to reset your mind and body.

ABOUT US
RACHEL

Hi, I'm Rachel. I'm an accredited, qualified massage therapist and business owner in Devon. I'm a happily married woman and mum of two gorgeous boys.
My journey into bodywork began after struggles with my health, both mental & physical. I wasn't coping with day to day life & wasn't looking after myself & therefore was incapable of looking after others...which is ultimately all I'm about. I sat back, wallowed a bit & finally found a balance of looking after others & myself by embarking on a career in bodywork.

For you to feel comfortable and safe in my treatment room, at times when you are feeling vulnerable and needing care; it's important that you feel I am the right-fitting therapist for you. And vice-versa. The energy has to be right and the trust has to be there. My therapy room is a non-judgemental, no apologies zone. You can snore, fart, cry, have an anxiety attack and have a drippy nose on my floor, I can assure you I won't tell anyone.
It's my lived experience with mental health and women's health as well as my previous work experience within mental health services that has shaped me into the type of therapist I am. I have an affinity for self-care, respect and love and I value mental health and its vulnerabilities. I treat people the way I'd expect to be treated and value my strong desire to do the right thing.

I enjoy working with women and empowering them to recognise their limits, to prioritise their wellbeing and improve their mental and physical health. Being a woman who has worked hard to achieve these things amidst the rollercoaster of perimenopause, I can resonate and sympathise with others. In order to help myself and other women experiencing hormone challenges, I have educated myself on women's health and am able to provide advice and guidance.
I offer a slow, intuitive, and compassionate approach to my treatments. I focus on understanding your body's unique responses, not just through touch but also by observing your body language and emotions. Each session is intentionally tailored to meet your needs on that specific day, utilising a variety of skills and to ensure the best possible experience for you.
What I've learnt...Embrace the hard times; they make you stronger & more determined. But be kind to yourself, accept your limitations & ask for help when you need it.

HELPING YOU HELP YOURSELF
Self-care is the process of taking charge of your own health and wellbeing. How you look after yourself in order to promote and importantly maintain your health is different for everyone and shouldn’t be compared.
You have to make the first move, and we want to ensure that you feel safe and comfortable allowing us to be a part of that journey to achieving your goals. Whether your aim is to improve your resilience by lowering stress and increasing a feeling of self-worth. Or improving your mobility and easing muscle tension to reduce pain and discomfort.
Over time, your self-care routine may evolve and change depending on what you need at the time. Massage is not only a physical practice of self-care, but we can hold a therapeutic space for you to ‘just be’ or to listen with an empathetic ear.
